Birdville Isd Calendar 2023-24 – Varsity opened the Texas State Championship Friday against Mansfield, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 on goals by Bowcom (2) and Levita.
On Saturday morning, Beech wrestled against Prosper, recovering from an injury, and coming back with a 4-2 win. Goals Chris (2), Keith and Laurie.

The team met with Koppel on Saturday afternoon. The returning boys had to come back from a 2-1 deficit before running away with it in the second period, finishing 7-3 and sending the team to the championship game against Birdville. Goalie Chris (3), Bocum (2), Keith and Willis.

On Sunday morning, the undefeated teams battled for the 2A state championship. PESH is strong against the mighty Birdville. No comeback was needed in this one as 3 goals in the first period gave the Panthers a 3-1 lead and they never looked back, eventually winning the championship game 6-3. Goals from Bocum (2), Loncar, Keith (2) and Moreau contributed to the win.
The team was led by Judd Kress, Skylar Bowcome and Aaron Keith, who collected 36 points for the tournament. Goaltender Mika Laird finished with a 1.82 goals against average with 938 goals.
Plano East came into the tournament ranked #1 in its division and earned that spot by going undefeated in all competitions heading into the tournament. I congratulate all the players and coaches who have done this hard work. It's amazing!
