Cleveland County Schools Calendar 2023-2024 – The White County Board of Education discussed options for the 2023-2024 school calendar at its Jan. 25 meeting.

Option 1 changes the winter break schedule to allow students and teachers to have a week-long fall break in October, it will be a half-day on Thursday, December 21st, to begin extending winter break through January 1st. Teachers should return to plan on Mondays and Tuesdays in January before students return on Wednesdays. .

Cleveland County Schools Calendar 2023-2024

In Option 2, students and teachers would only have two days off in October to allow for a two and a half week winter break. Option 2's half-day winter break will begin on December 15 and continue through January 1, with students and teachers returning to the same day of break as in Option 1.

Texarkana Arkansas School District Calendar 2023/2024

"Option 2 is probably better than what we have right now, and there's plenty of time before Christmas," said Superintendent Laurie Burkett. "Some teachers want that, so we don't want to throw that away as an option."

The board voted to put both options up for public and faculty review at 6 p.m. meeting Thursday, January 27. A survey will be posted on the White County Schools website (white.k12.ga.us) until Monday, January 31 to gather public feedback.
