Ecisd Calendar 2023-24 – Rosaura R. Miranda is employed by the Edinburg School District. In 1990 he received his high school diploma from Edinburgh High School. He attributes his love of math to two women who make math challenging and fun: Hermelinda Kano and Martha Ochoa, both of whom are EHS inductees.
In 1996 he received a BA in Secondary Mathematics from UTPA. In 2019 he received a Master's degree in Mathematics and Teaching from UTRGV.

He has been with ECISD for 24 years. She taught at Memorial High School. Southern High School and BL high school. She currently teaches: pre-algebra 8th grade, algebra 1, and geometry.

BL Garza High School is named after Mr. Baldemar Lino Garza. The school was founded on November 20, 1999. Mr. Garza was born in Mercedes, Texas and is the oldest of ten persons. He died on October 4, 1975 in Edinburgh Hospital. His father, Leoncio S. Garza, was a pharmacist and businessman in Mercedes, Texas in the early 1900s. His mother, Nelly Chapaca. Sarza was born in Penitas, Texas and is a fourth-generation Texas native.
After graduating from Mercedes High School in 1937, B.L. moved. and his family to Edinburgh. where his father opened Garza's Pharmacy, BL joined the US Navy in 1941 and served until 1947 at that time. He went from a hospital apprentice to a chief apothecary while serving in the Atlantic. Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean
In 1952, GI Bill graduated with a degree in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin. after graduation He also became the owner of Garza Pharmacy in Edinburgh. He was a member of the Texas Pharmaceutical Association in 1952 and a charter member of the Rio Grande Valley Pharmaceutical Association. His dedication and professional commitment earned him the honor of 1967 Outstanding Pharmacist and Texas Pharmacist of the Year. in 1968 by the RGV Association

Among his many services to the community, BL was the chairman of the Edinburgh Municipal Hospital Board. Member of the board of directors of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the Rio Grande Valley and is a member of the Board of Education of the Edinburgh Board of Higher Education and Vocational Education. In 1966 he was recognized as an honorary member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America for his efforts on behalf of the youth in the community. B.L. that community involvement creates a better living environment for everyone.
B.L. is married to Margaret Saeta Garza, she is survived by her husband and three children; Adriana Saeta Garza, Carlos B.L. Garza (Sharon) and Teresa Garza Vina (Robert), eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
