Davis has been quiet since the end of the season and few could decide his future by reading any tea leaves… because there were no leaves to read. Even when Dennis Gates talked about recruiting today's players, there was always room for change. However, I'm not sure many people expected the traffic to be that deep.

Davis had a difficult season as he struggled to find his footing on the big stage. However, it was not without great moments. Davis had his best game on the road against Ole Miss, playing 30 minutes off the bench and not missing a single shot on 10 attempts to lead all scorers with 23 points. On the season, he averaged 9 points on 42.5% shooting from the field. Davis appears to be coming into conference play, but he has scored in double figures in just five games after the Ole Miss game and just once in the last 9 games.

He was known for his mid-range game, but all hopes of a three-point shooting cycle into form were dashed. Davis made just 13 three-point attempts in conference play.

Davis' departure leaves Missouri with two open scholarships. So what happens to them? Good question. Missouri is in a resource rich league without as many resources as the top half of the league. However, there can be strategic investments to ensure that you remain competitive with the budget and with the staff that can help improve and diversify the project.

Currently, Martin is surrounded by supporters of coaches who are like him. They are the beggars of the school. Support staff is limited. So I am not asking anyone to exchange. But whoever is in the program after the final decisions are made has to find a new way to get this thing back to where everyone wants it.

Different minds will have different opinions about the nature of the text. I would argue that it is not as bad as they have been playing, and there are some good pieces that can make a quick recovery easier.

It's impossible to win if you can't be a three-point threat. Last season Mizzou was 20th and 30th in 3FG% and was within shooting range. This year they are down, which is down too much.
