Pisd Calendar 2023 – Students will return for the 2022-2023 school year on August 9, and staff will return the week before on August 1.
The schedule for the upcoming school year, approved at the last Plainview ISD school board meeting, shows that work days for new employees will begin on July 27.

The calendar is similar to the calendar of the current academic year. It offers students at least one day off each month of the school year. Among the holidays indicated in the school calendar, September 5; October 19-21; November 21-25; December 19-30; January 16, 2023; March 13-17; April 7; and May 29. Bad days are currently scheduled for March 20 and May 25. Graduation is scheduled for May 27, 2023.

Head of H.T. Sanchez noted that when the schedule was created there were questions about whether there would be changes if construction was delayed.
"We can always go back and propose another calendar", he said, and expressed his confidence that the Coronado and Estacado campuses will be ready for the next school year.
Following this article, the district allowed students to purchase an additional number of laptops. The laptops cost $681.81 each, which was the lowest price offered by the seller. The district purchased 80 Microsoft Surface laptops. The purchase is expected to exceed the $50,000 threshold that requires board approval, although Sanchez typically brings most purchases to the table regardless of price.

"We have set aside funding for this through forward-looking planning and a large amount of resources made available through the COVID relief funds," Sanchez said.
The board also unanimously approved the purchase of three cars for the repair shop and one for the food pantry.
The pickups for the maintenance department will be purchased from Plainview Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge for a total of $128,900. A catering van was purchased from Smith Family Ford of Plainview for $37,548.
