Dissertation Committee: Doctoral students must submit as soon as the Dissertation Committee is formed. The thesis committee should normally submit a thesis proposal one semester before but no later than the deadline: four semesters before the expected graduation period.

International Admissions verifies the validity of coursework, general transferability, and provides a U.S. equivalent grade point average based on professional resources available through the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and other professional organizations. International Admissions works with students to receive course syllabi and academic catalog information from their previous institutions to express transferable coursework.

Finally, International Admissions works with students to establish course equivalency for the University core curriculum. Upper division coursework must be reviewed and approved by the student's academic department or academic advisor.

Transcripts once submitted become the property of FIU and may not be returned to the applicant or forwarded to any other institution. Please do not send us your original transcript/diploma if no other copy exists.
