In 2021, GSU ​​was ranked the 8th most ethnically diverse university in the United States by US News & World Report. Georgia State University has nationally ranked and accredited programs. We offer over 250 degrees, including majors, minors, and programs in specific areas of study. The following programs are offered to international students.

This English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program is offered to international students who do not meet the English language requirements for direct entry into their chosen major. Course content, activities and assignments are designed to prepare students for the language skills required for university. Intermediate and advanced students typically read, discuss, and write about academic course topics. On the other hand, for beginners and intermediate students, the focus is mainly on basic language skills. Applicants can meet GSU's English proficiency requirements by completing an IEP Grade 5 (C- or above).

There is no minimum GPA requirement to consider for GSU graduate programs. However, the average GPA for competitive applicants is 3.2 on a 4-point scale. Applicants for postgraduate studies must have a U.S. equivalent bachelor's degree in the relevant field of study. For research programs, students must hold an equivalent US bachelor's or master's degree, or both, in a relevant field. In addition, some courses may require GRE or GMAT scores. There is no minimum GRE requirement to consider a graduate program. However, the test taker's average score is the cumulative score of the oral and numeric sections of the test. Similarly, competitive candidates have an average GMAT score of 620. Some courses may require scores from other tests such as the LSAT or MCAT. GSU requires all international academic applications to be formally evaluated by the Undergraduate/Graduate Admissions Office or an independent evaluation agency. All documents must be in English or otherwise translated into English or accompanied by a certified English translation.

GSU does not provide financial assistance to international students. However, scholarship opportunities for accepted international students are limited. Awards or scholarships are based on criteria such as achievements, personal finances, and areas of study. There are many opportunities, including scholarships, programs, and mentoring. International His UG graduate students and domestic applicants must apply through the Common Application Portal. Please note that only first-year candidates can apply through this portal.

International students can apply online using the university's application portal. To start a new application, students must first register their personal information. Candidates can review and track their applications online at any time.

Undergraduate admission decisions will begin on her February 1st for applications received on February 1st. Applicants who applied before April 1st may receive written admission notices after May 1st. Graduate and undergraduate programs review all applicants, so the review process varies by program.
