Leander Isd Calendar 2023-24 – We know that meeting the transportation needs of our students has been a significant challenge our # 1LISD community faced this school year. Due to the lack of drivers and monitors, the increase in traffic in our area and the increase in the number of passengers, several routes arrived 15-30 minutes late on their campuses.

We have listened to your concerns and will continue to take steps to improve. A committee was formed in 2018 to research and discuss all options for improving transport and to determine if there are enough minutes in the school day to meet learning needs. Based on the work of the committee, several changes were implemented in autumn 2020, including:

The committee considered adding 45 minutes between each level, believing it would facilitate more transit, but did not see summer 2020 as an appropriate time to recommend this change. have time Given the new restrictions the Department of Transportation has faced in the past two years, now is a more appropriate time to implement the 45-minute recommendation between tiers. In addition to these changes, in order to comply with the recommendations made in the Transport Audit and to fully implement the recommendations and work of the 2018-2020 Committee, the following adjustments are proposed for the 2022-23 bell calendar.

While we recognize that the proposed changes will affect each family differently, we believe these adjustments will benefit the entire district. These benefits include: reducing traffic congestion, reducing costs through efficient routing, and most importantly, helping us get our students to school on time.
