Relevant master's degree / 4-year post-intermediate education (130 credit hours), with a minimum of CGPA 2.5 in the semester system or 2nd division in the year system. Candidates must have passed the GAT (General) conducted by NTS with at least 50% of the points.
Candidates with MS/MPhil 18 years of education with at least CGPA 3.0 in the semester system or 1st Division in the year system. Candidates must have passed the GAT (Subject) test conducted by NTS with at least 60% of the points.

New Upd Academic Calendar For Ay 2021 2022
Candidates register for GAT-General (MS/M.Phil) and GAT-Subject (Ph.D.) on the NTS website www.nts.org.pk GAT (Subject) for Ph.D admission. and GAT (General) for admission in MPhil will be held on March 1, 2022 by NTS. For eligibility, seat allocation, GAT and other details, candidates are advised to visit the University of Peshawar website www.uop.edu.pk
A candidate who has a valid GAT Subject or GAT General scorecard is not required to take the said test, which will be administered by NTS on March 1, 2020. He/she must have valid scorecard with his/her Ph.D. /MPhil/MS Admission Form. Only those candidates will be considered for admission whose results have been properly declared/notified by the Examination Invigilator by the deadline for submission of forms. Candidates employed by a government or semi-government department/organization must provide a clearance from the department/organization prior to provisional admission. The provision of hostel accommodation is subject to the availability of places and will not be legally claimed. If the candidate is found to be unsuitable during the examination, they will not be allowed to appear for the interview, even if they have passed the GAT (Subject)/GAT (General) test. If the candidate appears at the interview and is later found ineligible for any reason, their admission will be canceled at any point. In the event of ambiguity about eligibility for funding, the opinion of the doctoral committee of the department concerned is final. All HEC/University of Peshawar rules/regulations apply to the eligible scholarship recipients. The University reserves the right to make changes to programs/admissions procedures/regulations if and where deemed necessary.
