Tcnj Calendar 2023-2024 – The event was hosted by Brittany Adelot, director of the Center for Community Engagement and dr. Avani Rana, Director of Leadership (alumni.tcnj.edu).

On Friday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m., the College hosted an informative alumni panel moderated by Brittany Adelot, director of the College's Center for Community Engagement. Adelot and its director of management, Dr. Avani Rana, helped prepare the event. The three graduates of the group are Kari Osmond, Brandon McKoy and Rob Matos Moran. All members of the team are members of the Student Union (SG) during their stay at the academy.

Osmond graduated from the College in 2009, majoring in women's gender and sexuality studies, focusing on public policy analysis. Since 2015, Bonnie Watson has served as Coleman's Chief of Staff. According to house.gov, Bonnie Watson Coleman is the U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 12th congressional district.

At the academy, Osmond participated in the Women's Learning and Leadership program. Through the Women's Learning and Leadership program, she had access to a large support system that helped Osmond after graduation. The program also helped him find some internship opportunities.

"When I left TCNJ, I created this support network of women who were very enthusiastic, committed and supportive," Osmond said.

Another panelist, McKoy, is president of the New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP). According to njpp.org, NJPP is an organization that conducts independent research on important policy issues. McKoy graduated in 2009 with a degree in social psychology and a minor in sociology.

McCoy said his experience at the academy has been largely classroom-based. He was able to conduct research under the guidance of James Graham, Ph.D., of the Department of Psychology, who said his undergraduate days taught him not to be afraid and to take advantage of opportunities when they came. .

"Even if you don't have experience or a formal job, at least be aware and ready for opportunities. I don't do it anymore because my calendar is so full, but if someone asks if you do something, say yes soon," said McCoy.

Moran, the third and final member of the board, currently assists Gov. Phil Murphy in the Department of Outreach. He gained his first work experience at the Academy, in the framework of the Bonner Scholarship program.

As a student, Moran was involved in many activities that kept him busy. He is a member of the debate team, a founder of Sigma Lambda Beta and participates in the Bonner Fellowship Program. He eventually went to Washington to study.

"Going and having these experiences takes you outside the box and really takes you to places you might not have been. You never know what opportunities might arise," Moran said.

Senior international studies and women's, gender and sexuality studies major Roshni Raji was sworn in as SG's new president in May and provided insight from current students in the college that makes up SG. Raji has been involved with SG since spring 2019 and says that many of his friends who encouraged and supported him convinced him to join as an MP.

"Once I got involved, I really fell in love with the organization and its work, and I ended up staying there," Raj said.

He wasn't entirely sure what his future plans were, but he knew he wanted to be involved in public service in some way.

TCNJ offers a teaching track and a nursing certificate in its master's program, with a focus on teaching in an academic or healthcare setting. Both programs are approved by the New Jersey Department of Education.

These fully accredited programs build on the education and knowledge of baccalaureate nurses and provide students with key skills to educate future nurses or paralegals in current professions. Courses are in-person, online, or hybrid, and are available full-time or part-time.

A group of dedicated faculty from diverse backgrounds teach MSN degree programs that prepare graduates to teach in the classroom, learn online, or make changes in hospital and community health systems that ultimately improve patient-centered care. The program focuses on how technology, assessment, and academic support can facilitate student progress and improve instruction.

The Nurse Educator certificate is designed for nurses who wish to gain advanced knowledge in this field, with a focus on teaching in an academic or healthcare setting.

The MSN education program and the Nurse Educator Certificate program will be integrated, face-to-face and/or online. To accommodate working RNs, some courses will be scheduled online. The duration of personal education is usually 17:00-19:50. The schedule follows TCNJ's regular academic calendar and offers fall, spring, and summer dates. Full-time or combined courses are offered.

All MSN and certificate options include clinical practicum experience. Clinical placement takes place during the day, usually on weekdays. Clinical experiences are led by experienced nurses, university nurse educators or clinical professional development nurses, depending on the area and program. The practical hours required for each course are included in the course description.

570, 573, 633, 670, and 701 require two days of daily clinical hours per week. NURS 633 requires daily clinical hours one day per week.

Hospital Profitability Draws Concerns From Consumers, Policymakers

Students who may be interested in the MSN (in Education) are students with a BSN in their major and a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Prospective students may want to teach registered nurses and/or nurse practitioners in clinical settings, teach practical nurses, or educate others to better understand how to advance in a career.

Applicants must ensure that all materials are completed by the priority review deadline or application deadline.

*Applications are judged on the basis of available places up to and including the first day of the semester.

Incoming Students 'spend A Day At Tcnj'

Compared to other schools of similar quality, the College of New Jersey provides a high-quality education at a below-average cost.

The Board of Directors of the College is responsible for determining the fees for tuition, fees, housing and boarding programs. The schedule of tuition fees may be changed without prior notice and based on the action of the Board of Directors.

TCNJ offers graduate assistantships that provide meaningful teaching experiences while supporting TCNJ's educational mission. These scholarships require 15 hours of work per week during the fall and spring semesters while the university is in session. Only those graduate students who are admitted full-time (minimum 9 credits/semester), have a good academic standing and have a university cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

Graduate assistants receive a tuition waiver of $10,000 per academic year ($5,000 per semester in fall and spring only) and are employed for up to two years per year.

Students pursuing graduate studies at TCNJ may be eligible for certain types of student financial aid, including but not limited to student loans and scholarships. Graduate students must follow the same process as undergraduates when applying for federal loans.

Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 5 credits at the 500 level or higher to be eligible for student loan aid and that TCNJ validates the deferment of enrollment for loan repayment.

College Hosts Virtual Accepted Students Day For Incoming Students

Due to extremely high enrollment and retention rates, the department does not have the capacity to accept external transfer students for the 2022-2023 Bachelor of Science (BSN) program. This notice is being updated as capacity allows applications for the 2023-2024 academic year through the Office of Admissions. Just two days after the Olympics, the USA team won a silver medal thanks to slopestyle snowboarder Julia Marino. Team USA's first medal at the last Winter Olympics in 2018 was also in women's snowboarding, with Jamie Anderson winning gold.

New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski Synnott is the latest winner of the women's slopestyle snowboard competition. It was New Zealand's first gold medal at the Winter Olympics.

Excited to see Sinnott win the gold medal, several runners rushed to hug him at the end of the run. Marino was happy to lead the competitors after seeing Sinnott's run. It was a heartwarming moment, in contrast to the sparse audience of the match.
