Tcc Spring 2023 Calendar – After months of working and studying from home, it won't be long before students, faculty and staff return to TCC Northwest this fall to see real changes. The original structure, WADM, no longer exists, and is the first major part of the campus to be demolished as part of the $311 million redevelopment project.

WSTU (Student Center and Media Services), WTLO (Walsh Library and Theater), WFAB (Fine Arts), and WCTS (Counseling/Testing, Math and Science) will eventually follow.

But that won't last long, according to the latest schedule released in April by Skanska, the project's main contractor. The schedule calls for the demolition of WTLO, WSTU and WFAB between April and October 2023. The WCTS will be demolished between July and October 2025, two months before the completion of the reconstruction project.

Northwestern seniors may mourn the passing of the buildings where they spent most of their careers, but there is an upside. The staircase that covered most of the original structure will disappear with them.

But when some things go down, others go up. The main part of the plan consists of four new buildings, now only numbered 1-4 (see attached campus map). Construction of buildings 1 and 2 will begin in July 2021, and is scheduled to be completed in January 2023 (building 1) and March 2023 (building 2).

Construction of the 3rd and 4th buildings will begin in October 2023 and will be put into operation in March and May 2025.

The two original Northwest buildings, WSBA (Maintenance and Physical Installations) and WHPE (Physical Education), will be "rehabbed" and will receive a new exterior finish to replace the original brickwork. Work will begin in July 2021, end in May 2022, and end in July 2022. We're also getting a new classroom exterior overlooking the WACB, or Marine Creek Lake. The work is planned to be carried out from May 2025 to January 2026.

Other buildings on the campus, including what is now Marine Creek College High School, the Criminal Justice Training Center, the Police Academy Shooting Range and the Fire Training Center, will not be included in the redevelopment.

The Foundation awards scholarships to hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students each year. More than $700,000 in awards are awarded to more than 500 recipients each year, with awards ranging from $250 to $4,000.

The foundation's generous donors provide scholarships in health, science, math, dentistry, theater, military, technology, construction, disability, first generation, international students and more. Foundation scholarships are awarded in the fall, spring, and summer semesters and are based on specific criteria established by the donor to help meet student needs.

Scholarship applications are automatically applied to all scholarships offered by the Foundation. The software system allows applicants to apply for scholarships. Once submitted, applications will be reviewed in each award cycle for that academic year.

Contributions to the First-Generation Matching Scholarship (FGMG) Scholarship Program allow a spring semester scholarship to be awarded to eligible first-generation college-bound students from a designated private donor of the Foundation. Students eligible to receive FGMG state matching funds must meet eligibility criteria during the fall and spring semesters of the academic year in which the award is made.

Students who are currently enrolled at Tallahassee College or who plan to enroll in the upcoming semester are eligible for the scholarship. Current students must generally maintain a 2.0 GPA or better and be in good academic standing to be considered.

The Foundation awards scholarships based on both financial need and non-need, so it is important to complete and submit the FAFSA to determine your financial ability when applying. If you applied but did not complete the FAFSA, the scholarship offered by the foundation will not appear on your My Chance scholarship list. You must submit a FASFA for the current academic year in order for your name to appear as a candidate for all scholarships awarded by the Foundation.
