University Of Memphis Fall 2023 Calendar – Bluff City Day on the Hill is coming! Momentum Nonprofit Partners, along with the Public Policy Action Network and Capitol Resources LLC, will host a day on the hill in 2023. If you are an advocacy or lobbying professional for a Mid-South nonprofit organization, we invite you to participate in our feedback session on September 15, 2022.
Nonprofit organizations are charitable organizations that serve the public interest. The high rates of poverty in Memphis, especially in specific neighborhoods, lend a greater sense of urgency to the work of nonprofit organizations that serve the Memphis community, and thus the public "good."
University Of Memphis Fall 2023 Calendar
Elena Delavega, PhD, MSW is Professor of Social Work and MSW Program Director at the University of Memphis, where she teaches social welfare policy and poverty. In line with the values and goals of the social work profession, her research aims to improve human well-being and opportunity. Her research consists of three broad areas, based on the promotion of social justice: 1) Understanding poverty; 2) Social and Economic Exclusion; and 3) Promotion of Social and Economic Development. Dr. Delavega served as Associate Director of the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis from 2015 to 2019 and edited volumes II through VII of the Hooks Policy Papers. She is the author of the Memphis Poverty Fact Sheet, which is updated annually. She is the author of the 2018 Memphis Poverty Report: Memphis Since MLK. She is the recipient of the 2019 University of Memphis Excellence for Engaged Scholarship award.

Listen4Good will share best practices from their evidence-based program and discuss ways to obtain a scholarship to support your participation.
Listen4Good is the signature capacity building initiative of the Fund for Shared Insight. Listen4Good provides coaching and web-based resources to social sector organizations so they can build sustainable feedback practices and improve service delivery. To date, Listen4Good has worked with nearly 700 organizations across the United States.

More than a workshop, it's a three-month design lab that kicks off on October 5th with a two-hour workshop, followed by three in-person, one-on-one workshops with Mel and Pearl Shaw of Saad&Shaw – Comprehensive Fund Development Services.
This Design Lab is open to 5 organizations. Each organization must commit 3 team members to participate in the full Design Lab as a cohort. Cohorts should consist of people responsible for fundraising in your organization such as the executive director, development staff and volunteers and/or board members.
