School lunches will not be free for all students this year, as the federal exemption that supported the initiative ended during the pandemic. If a child needs free or reduced lunch, parents must complete a free and reduced lunch form on the new Titan Family Portal. This portal can be used to view weekly menus, manage your student meal account (payments, low balance alerts and transfers between family members) and apply for free and reduced meals.

Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine prepares future physicians and scientists committed to improving health in New Jersey and across the nation. To advance our mission, we:
Rowensome has been training osteopathic physicians for over 40 years. The school has graduated more than 3,000 graduates nationwide who practice in a variety of specialties from family medicine to neurology (and more). Located 14 miles from downtown Philadelphia, two hours from New York City and one hour from the famous Jersey Shore, Rowensome offers an accredited four-year program leading to a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. We are a consistent leader among osteopathic medical schools in academics, research, funding and student diversity. The school offers two campuses and two curricula to choose from. Our new RowanSOM Sewell campus features a new model of integrated clinical services to meet patients' healthcare needs. Students who wish to attend RowanSOM are trained in an academic/clinical model not found in all medical schools. We offer a balanced educational experience in a truly collaborative environment, offering a diverse and welcoming student body with great opportunities for research and community service.
Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine is fully accredited by COCA and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

The Stratford campus is the center of the campus, the academic center; The three-story, 110,000-square-foot building houses a library, basic science and anatomy labs, classrooms, lounges, student services, a cafeteria, a prayer/meditation room and a wellness center. The 74,000-square-foot science center includes laboratories and facilities used for key research and experiments. The 54,000-square-foot University Education Center (UEC) now houses state-of-the-art PBL classrooms and Rowensome's student services department. The Rowan Medical Building is home to our new state-of-the-art simulation center, which provides a unique experience in four years of undergraduate medical education. The simulation center has 14 outpatient and four hospital-themed exam rooms with observation areas for standardized patient and simulator experiences. Watch our video for a hands-on simulation experience while hearing from students and faculty about their important role in medical education: https://som.rowan.edu/education/academic/simlab/about. .html.
Rowansome Center, Sewell Campus spans more than 55,000 square feet, including Rowan's Center for Integrated Special Needs (RISN) on the ground floor and state-of-the-art academic facilities with nine groups of eight. Students in the PBL curriculum. Other academic spaces include the Library Learning Center, OMM Laboratory, Lecture Hall and Research Laboratory. Dynamic learning coordination is created by having a unique medical practice model located one floor below the classroom. First and second year students are admitted to the faculty on the first floor, who are actively involved in the treatment of patients. Additional students may rotate through these clinical sites as part of third- and fourth-year electives and core rotations.
Although no on-campus housing is provided, there are several apartment communities near the Rowensome campus. RowanSOM also provides several housing resources and guides that give students access to a variety of housing options.

RowanSOM has two different curricula to choose from: Students interested in the PBL curriculum are required to complete an essay explaining why they should be selected for the PBL track. Both areas of the curriculum prepare students to become outstanding physicians who provide exceptional care and become leaders in their communities. Our students always do well in National Board exams.
The development of our Synergistic Guided Learning (SGL) track focuses on one-step system-based design, where organ systems are grouped into blocks that represent an intuitive learning progression. Each block recapitulates the cyclical process that introduces the ideal/normal human structure and function, and then describes the development of disease, its diagnosis and treatment. For example, a basic science session focused on the regulation of normal blood pressure followed by a clinical session focused on the assessment and management of hypertension. This allows the relevance of basic science to be immediately apparent to students, offers more team teaching by clinical and basic science faculty, and reduces redundancy. In addition to classroom and clinical training, our students engage in activities that affect the patient's overall health, which is the rule of osteopathy. This is done through courses that include community service, end-of-life care, sexuality and health systems science.
Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered approach to the curriculum in which the presentation of clinical situations is a stimulus for acquiring the basic scientific knowledge needed to understand the underlying mechanisms, as well as a way to develop clinical reasoning skills. For two years, our students follow a dual-track model that allows them to develop complex learning problems that encompass both basic and clinical science. Our students engage in complementary activities that affect the patient's overall health, which is the principle of osteopathy. Our courses cover the science behind community services, end-of-life care, sexuality and the health care system.

Three-plus-four articulation agreements with select colleges allow qualified applicants to apply to study osteopathic medicine and begin their junior year traditionally during their senior year. Applicants to the Bachelor's/DO program must take the MCAT, complete all course requirements, and interview with a member of the admissions committee to be offered a place in the class. Acceptance to an undergraduate college and following the three plus four track does not guarantee admission to Rowensome. (Contact admissions for more information.)
